Update as of 2/22/25: In recent discovery of our plurality, it is understood that the term "archaeosapien" was not solely coined by Sivaan of Candlekeep. Unbeknowst to beast at the time, Ade (pictured to the right) had also contributed to the creation of this term. The following entry was written by Sivaan of Candlekeep with the term being co-coined by Ade of the Dragonsight Society.

I come bearing good news, adventurer(s)!

I finalized my terminology for ancient alterhumans and made a coining post yesterday on Tumblr. So far, it's been very well-received!

I had shared my document on this term with the Alterhuman Archive as well. What is the term, you may ask?

It is Archaeosapien.

An archaeosapien is an individual whose alterhuman or nonhuman identity is intrinsically rooted in prehistory, antiquity or mythic accounts of history. Archaeosapience is the state of being an archaeosapien. Archaeosapience is the collection of experiences, memories and reflections on one's existence as an ancient being. One's noemata plays a crucial role in one's archaeosapience. As an archaeosapien, one is consistently aware of their existence as an ancient being and how that relates to their experience in a now modern world. More importantly, one's awareness is the first step to facilitating a healthy relationship between one's true self and one's ancient roots. As a being from a separate time, one's ancient nature should be embraced regardless of one's physical circumstances.

The coining post for my terminology can be found here on my alterhuman side blog.

Furthermore, the PDF file shared with the Alterhuman Archive on archaeosapience can be found here as well.

I have more writings on archaeosapience planned in the future, but for now, I am satisfied that I was able to get the basic information out there. Perhaps, I'll even make a Carrd to condense some of the information in the original document. I have a background in vexillography, so I can certainly see myself making a flag for this label as well!

I'm in such a good mood that I've decided to open up the comments on my Dreamwidth! I want to know others' thoughts on these matters. I also shared my Dreamwidth publicly in other spaces, so I figured that I'd explored some input from those who engage with my content. I originally had comments disabled to avoid trolling, but I'm willing to take a chance in order to connect with my community more. Let me know what you think!

Best regards from the back porch,
Br'er Lion and Adeyemi
